Children's Ministries
There are Sunday School classes available for children ages three and up and a nursery is provided for children from infancy through age three.
After the Children's Moment in the 11:00 a.m. worship service, children in grades K-5 may leave the sanctuary for a special time of Bible stories and related activities.
Youth Ministries
A biblically-based and life-centered Youth Sunday School class (grades 6-12) meets each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. United Methodist Youth Fellowship takes place each Sunday eveningat 6:00 p.m. Fellowship, recreation, mission projects, and Bible studies are just the beginning of the many activities in which they take part.
Scouting
Wheeler is the meeting place for Girl csout Troop 198 which meets Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m. and Cub Scout Troop 74 which meets on Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m. For more information contact Girl Scout leader Kathy Rutledge at 423-323-8395, Cub Scout leader Trudy Williams at 423-323-7586 and Boy Scout leader Rick Gilbert at 423-323-0352.
Sunday School Classes for Adults
Agape Class
We offer a lecture and discussion format of warmth, humor, and pragmstism that serves those 50 years old and above. The class focuses on International Lessons. The class hosts a quarterly benefit breakfast for the church and supports Greystone Nursing Home Bingo.
Asbury Class
The Asbury Class is a discussion based Adult Bible Study for ages 70 to 93.
New Communicators Class
The New Communicators Class uses nontraditional literature that is interesting, humorous at times, current, and Biblically based. The format is discussion and occassional chaos. The class will often have discussions related to events that occur in our world, community, and families. It is informal and all opinions are encouraged, valued, and respected. This class has no specific criteria regarding age, gender, or marital status. It is an eclectric group focused on being a Christian in an ever changing, modern world.
Pavior Class
The Pavoir Class is a lecture and discussion based Sunday School class designed for persons ages 60 to 90. The class relies on 100% participation and is very supportive of the church and each other. Every member of the Pavior Class is encouraged to be very involved in church and community activities and outreach programs.
Seekers Class
The Seekers Class is an adult Bible Study for all ages that welcomes opinions while studying the Bible in a discussion format.
Young Adults Class
This class is for men and women ages 18-30 and meets in the Library.
Small Group Studies
Doing Life Together
Doing Life Together is a small group experience to focus on the five Life Purposes (Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry, Evangelism, and Worship) which need to be addressed in the life of every Christian.
A group will begin again in January and meet on 6 Wednesday nights at 6:00 PM.
Four by Four Groups
Four by Four Groups give our congregation an opportunity to get acquainted with people they do not know very well with the ultimate purpose of building fellowship and our sense of community. Groups begin meeting again in March.
Short Term Discipleship Groups
Other small groups meet for Lenten Studies, Advent Studies, or studies of interest to men and women.
